INAUGURAL NITRO SHOWDOWN BLASTS OFF MAY 15TH AT DESERT THUNDER RACEWAY

The AHRA’s first ever Nitro Showdown will blast down the track on May 15 at Desert Thunder Raceway in Midland, Texas, featuring a one-day duel of Top Fuel Dragsters, fire-breathing Jet Cars and a Big Buck Sportsmen race.
The event marks the first of several Nitro Showdowns planned throughout the season, AHRA CEO Troy Moe said Friday.
“This is really exciting and something we’re planning on rolling out across the country. It’s a one-day event that features nitro-powered Top Fuel Dragsters and the raw fire-power of Jet Cars along with the excitement of local racers fighting to win their share of a substantial purse,” Moe said.
“Desert Thunder Raceway recently joined the AHRA family and we’re very pleased with the improvements they have made to the facility. Updated track prep, new LED lights on the tree and a lot of new programs for local racers.”
